Musings of This, That and Other Things

Musings of This, That and Other Things,

The dog park in our town is nice enough to provide poop bags for us. It is the law to clean up after your animals.  Hubby was just leaving the park when this lady drives up, walks over to the box where two fat rolls of the bags are kept. She starts unrolling and doesn't stop till the grocery bag she brought is full to spilling with them. If she didn't take a hundred, she didn't take one. And what does she do? Turns around, gets back in her vehicle and drives off with no dogs in tow. Gee lady, don't worry for the rest of us that actually use the park and need those hundred bags. You didn't even have the grace to look sheepish. Um... thou shall not covet, honey. Yeah that applies to dog shit bags as well.

Want to know how talented I am?
Well too gosh darn bad, you're going to find out anyways..
I walk over to the microwave, turn my thumb sideways to push the button to open it. Sideways because I have acrylics on the semi longish side and it fits perfectly along the length of the button. I misjudge and ram the corner of my nail on the shelf it sits on. CRACK! Shitpissfrackinglousyfiretruckingsonofabeeswaxmuthertruckingpain  Suwweet Baby Jesus, there went 1/4 of my acrylic along with my real nail from the top heading towards the cuticle.
To add insult to injury, the nail tech, when I went the next day, slipped with the little mini grinder and lifted that whole section.
Cry, squeal, sniffle, stomach roll, eye roll, blanch and head bowed till it was fixed.
Walked out with wobbly knees.

Where were you when six o'clock rolled around May 21st? For the Rapture?  I was out on my porch, sitting on my Adirondack chair with my lil grand baby fast asleep in my arms. No other place I'd rather be. Just me, baby and the sounds of the continuation of life.
But hey, someone want to hug that old preacher? Tell him to cheer up, he's 89 yrs old,the end is near.

My trainer is pushing me to do what feels like 500 squats.
'Lower and deeper, put a little something extra in that butt, ' she booms out.
'Already did,' I deadpanned, 'it's called cheesecake.'

Rain. We need it. I know most of you don't. Our province is on fire. Three hundred thousand hectares burned and we lost half a town. 7000 people displaced, homeless.  I'll take it from you who are swimming in it. We have the Rainmaker Rodeo next Saturday, that'll help too, I hope.

What about you, my bloggy pals, what are your musings of the day?

For Today

For Today

Outside my window...
I see the house across the street with the black door. Why black when the siding is boring beige accented with wine coloured fake cedar shake posts.. The door throws everything off.. including me apparently.

I am thinking...
about breakfast. Eat at home or go out? Pppfffhht, there's a no-brainer.

I am thankful for...
my trainer at the gym. She pushes, she bullies, she rocks.

From the Kitchen...
I went on a mad baking binge. If only I could/would eat 1/4 of what I make. Yum.

I am wearing...
um clothes. Not sure what you wear? Wait, don't answer that. Please.

I am creating...
a space for my tomatoes and lilac tree.

I am going...
to fix my happy place outside this weekend. If you see me in that space just walk on by, I'm in an 8'x10' mini vacation spot, room for one.

I am reading...
some of my magazines,I am behind. How does one fall behind on magazines anyways?

I am hoping...
to find the willpower to add a couple of workouts this weekend. Monday's a holiday, I plan to get into sloth mode.

I am hearing...
about the hot summer we're in for. Hope it kills every last mosquito. Fracking rotten little blood sucking vampires.

Around the house...
I am trying to jazz up my living room. It needs some attention, seriously.

One of my favorite things...
is a deep sleep. I get it twice a month wether I need it or not. Be envious.

A few plans for the week...
looking forward to some me time. It's been a bit.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing...

I speak this language. Fluently.

May's 'I Believe'

...I'm a danger to myself when I'm left alone with my thoughts too long. Without interruptions or intervention. Yet,strangely, they are therapeutic.

...wine was invented to make it possible to overlook a daughter's bitchiness. Two adult daughters and their bitchiness directed at the 'mom target' emotions? That calls for the big guns, Gray Goose and diet coke with a bag of cheese pleasers. An entire one. Ha! I. Will. Win...?

...bullshit is a state of perpetual bliss for some people. I don't get the attraction?

...nothing on earth is worth trading in ones values for. Sometimes I think I stand with a very small crowd on that.

...those stupid little moles owe me a new section of lawn. Can I target practice in town? Someone check the bylaw and get back to me asap. Please and thanks.

...old Bin didn't quite make the Pearly Gates.

...Mother's Day should be a week long. Not just a measly day. I'm deserving even if my daughters laughed when I made the suggestion. ;-)

...I need an old fashioned telephone. The kind I can actually cradle on my shoulder. The sleek new models these days just slide right off to the floor, to the soup pot, to the dishwater, to the...

...I have a stalker on my blog.Anyone have any Prep H for my hemorrhoid suggestions? Um,other than my stalker that is..?

 ...What do you believe?

Chasing waterfalls

Oceans, lakes, rivers...waterfalls soothes the soul and draws me in.
Maybe being Aquarian has something to do with it.
