Remember the fun with 'helicopters'? What did you call them? |
To bad I couldn't capture the breeze that went with this. |
The colours they are a changin' |
Yellow: Alberta's favorite fall colour. |
Nature's bounty |
Rare reds |
Colour in the evening sun |
Even the pond seems to be taking on a different hue |
Losing light fast these days |
And the sun set on summer.. night all. |
Kinda makes you want to grab a hot chocolate and a sweater, doesn't it? :-)
Those pictures are beautiful! But I'm in mourning for summer. Ours was horrible!
ReplyDeleteAll my grandchildren (3) live in Alberta. That means I can knit sweaters for them all year long. This week in Ontario, it is over 30 degrees and dripping with humidity. We are actually looking forward to the coming hurricane weekend to cool things down some, while you guys are already heading into the colder seasons, way ahead of us.
ReplyDeleteI remembe the August I visited Alberta, packing shorts and sleeveless tops, looking forward to hiking, biking and sunny days. It rained every day for three weeks, and we FROZE almost to death on our hikes in the mountains! Then there was the July when my youngest son moved from Canmore back to Ontario because it was SNOWING!!!
I love visiting Alberta, but I don't think I'd like to live there.
Beautiful photos you have there.
Rosemary
I'll definitely miss summer. Though here in Georgia we'll have much much more warm (HOT) weather. But I do like fall. Unfortunately, the colder it gets the slower I move.
ReplyDeleteWe called those seeds Whirly Birds.
Weezer
Hi there!
ReplyDeleteI've sure enjoyed my visit here. I came over via Java's blog hop.
FYI...I'm a wine lover too.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Kat
Beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteIt's still summer here in Casablanca but not as hot as last week...much better now :)
Follow Friday 40 and over greetings!
Thanks for having Name/URL option to leave a comment! :)
Gorgeous shots - I called them helicopters too! It's been such a hot, muggy summer, so I say bring on the fall...
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Stunning photos, Jamie. I am agog at this collection of fall photos - and, mourning the end of summer along with Bipolar Diva. xo
ReplyDeleteTeri,
ReplyDeleteOurs didn't really materialize either and all signed are pointing to an early winter. Hauling out the flannels..
Rosemary,
Ahhh lol @ the bike ride and Canmore.. found out what we're all about did you? ;-)
Weezer,
Yes! I remember the term 'Whirly Birds' too, but have always called them helicopters.
Kat,
Thanks for stopping by!
Blogitse,
As always your visits are appreciated. :-)
Karen,
East Canada is super muggy too, ugh. Keep it. Raised there but not acclimatized anymore after 18 years away.
Dawn,
Ok, so I'll take 'agog' and trade ( read beg lol, it's been a trial to get together ) you some time to come out to play with the camera, you know you wannnaaaa! xo
Beautiful photos - but surely it can't be that time of year already?! Here in my part of the UK August was mostly very wet, cold and windy, but September has started with blue skies and warm sunshine so I'm hoping summer isn't over just yet. Most trees still have their green leaves but autumn berrries are ripening fast.
ReplyDeleteHi Jamie! Wow, what incredibly beautiful shots of nature! I'm so glad that you found my blog and are following so that i can do the same . . . now following you back. If you haven't done so already, please stop on back and link up this or any of your beautiful nature photos for my Fresh Clean and Pure Friday Blog Hop. Java, over at Never growing old, is a friend that is helping me get it launched. I appreciate any quality posts such as yours that illustrate a fresh new outlook on life around us! Ciao, Roz over at La bella Vita
ReplyDeleteIf only fall would make its arrival down here, I would be a happy girl! Love your photos.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
Candace

Love the name, it's my pet nickname for my first born daughter. Thanks for the invite to link up. I appreciate the compliment .
Candace,
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the show :-) Apparently Farmer's Almanac says we're expecting snow first two weeks of September. And true to form, we got it. In Banff, Alberta when I was there last weekend! Brrr
Howdy! I'm your newest blog follower from the 40 and over blog hop! I love all of your photos. They are beautiful.

WCBW,
You're welcome, you're welcome, you're welcome! lol
And here, despite Spring officially starting, its still winter - sigh. I long for warmer days and less rain!
ReplyDeleteWe used to peel the bud of the helicopters and stick them on the end of our noses.
ReplyDeletePinochio noses.
