A Blogger Question for my Bloggy Buddies.

I have a blogger question if you'll be so kind as to give me a minute of your time, my fine bloggy buddies.
When you receive a comment on your post, do you answer back via email or do you answer back in the 'comment' section of said post?
Why? As in why do you choose to answer back in the method you do?
I answer back from comments on the same page unless you email me privately for something.
I get responses from my comments on other blogs mostly in email.
So I'm to take it most of you don't know I respond back?
If you don't hear from me on your blog,do you venture back in my way?

Just curious as to how you manage your communications.

Thank you and we now return you to your regularly scheduled internet time.

  1. Some blogs don't have email available so most of the time I answer in my comment section specifically with their name.

  2. Same here...I have mine set up like yours, when people leave a comment they have the option to have follow up comments e-mailed to them

  3. Well, I guess I do a bit of both! Sometimes if there's a specific question in a comment or I want to add something personal, I will email back. I guess I always assume that it's too hard for people to keep checking back for my response if they asked a question. But, I do NOT spend a lot of time going back to blogs that I commented on.....other than to read the new posts.

I like the pic you used for this post!

  4. Mine is set up where I receive post comments on both post and eMail. If I answer a question or make a comment about a comment, I use eMail. Does that make any sense?
Anyway. I, too, like the graphic you used.

  5. When I receive notice that someone has left a comment on my blog and I can reply to that email, I do that and then follow up with a reply comment on my blog. If I cannot email, I reply in the comment section of my blog and then will hop over and visit whoever left the comment and thank them for stopping by, etc. It's a lot of steps and can be overwhelming sometimes to handle it this way but I try to cover all of the bases. Visiting from Follow Friday! I am now your newest follower.

    Have a great weekend,
    Candace

  6. If the person leaves an e-mail address, I'll e-mail the response to the comment. If not, I usually go to their blog and respond.
I spend way too much time reading blogs (way more than I should!), so after I leave a comment, I don't go back and revisit.

If the comment has a valid email addy I always email back..just a few lines, but, it adds a personal touch to the whole thing. If I see the commenting person is not a "follower" I will go visit their blog if they have one along with the return email.

  9. Thanks for all your input,guys :-)
I guess what it boils down to is a matter of preference and depth of the comment.
    Have a good one :-)
    Be back August 1st!

  10. funny, I just asked my blog tutor-Mama Holli this same question. She suggested I visit the commenters blogs and leave my own comments there- so that's what I've been doing all day, and enjoying every minute!

  11. I leave comments on the blog itself, but mine is setup to message me if a comment or email is sent... Did that make sense? I am having a brain burp or something...

  12. Hi Jamie, RavellyRhonda here from the over 40 thingy. I've become a "FOLLOWER" of your blog.
What a great question, I'll jump right in.
I respond via email but I've noticed folks responding via the Comment area. I think either way is fine but you might do a "reminder" note to everyone that you'll be responding via the Comment area...that way everyone knows what to expect.
Great to meet you. Take care.
